I thank you for your patience.
Peter was born in post war England, his lust for life and challenge was always present. Elementary education in a countryside public school (see below) were  where village attitudes Peter found restrictive. The 1940's English village life was limited both by wealth and opportunity. War scarred service me carried strong ideas of England it's place in the world. The horific memories he overheard tell did little to stop him wanting to see this world for himself.

Frequent trips to HMS Vanguard in Portsmouth naval base (below) and training stints on many Royal Navy ships gave birth to his desire to run away to sea.
Every weekend and many summers were spent in Royal Navy Uniform marching, sailing and learning all manner of things nautical and character building.
His love affair with the navy commenced at age 8, matured at sea until he completed his tour of duty at age 20 as a Chief Petty Officer.  Living in cramped naval quarters with all manner of men he gained experience in living in close quarters with people, learning how to read and adapt to people, learning the responsibilities of self discipline. Traveling around the world many times by the age of 16, helped to increase his awareness and exposure to cultures, tastes and people with different styles to his own. Peter has lived in England, Australia and now America since since 1977.

Having traveled all over the world many times has given Peter an extremely wide range of exposures to cultures, tastes and ethnic diversity. This has greatly influenced his designs and awareness of aesthetic appreciation. He feels so many things are appropriate, tasteful and elegant in one setting and perhaps not quite right in another and this is what makes each person’s individual appreciation of art and culture and design so very important and valid. Understanding why people like what they do, helps you design for them, entertain them and be inspired by them as well as an inspiration to them.
Peter has worked in Theater, Television, Radio, public speaking, education and sales fields. Taking on new challenges is the drive that gives him energy. He has no fear of failure, only fear of not trying. “Failing is simply learning a limitation,” says he. Every career change of direction has been an exciting and invigourating opportunity.

Family is the most important glues in Peter's busy life. He believes strongly in marriage and of the importance of putting family before self. Punctuality and dependability are his keystones. A man's word should be his bond, self imposed and self maintained. "If you say it, do it.", he says. "Life is that simple. You can only control yourself. Don't waste energy trying to control others. When you know your dependable you are reliable."
In his drive to become “An Interesting Old Man”

Sheep Walk Elementary School. Built Victorian style, and ran like it.
My "escape" tree when the world hated me.
Shepperton Village square, the center of rural life.
The ships butcher at age 18. for 3,000 people 3 meals a day.
Oh for the life of a sailor.
Penang Harbour 1961, a colonial outpost.
Being a sailor was born with pride. All the nice girls loved a sailor, or so we thought.
Two real sailors on Disney's pirate ship. Go figure.
By now I was willing and happy to settle down in Buffalo NY. A citizen.
Acting the colonial idiot while on location for the BBC.
My first tv show, nominated for a Daytime Emmy. Quite surreal.
Contrary to belief, you can dress me up.
The English blood is there, deep down.
A man only needs one friend, true friend, Ian Zeffert is mine.
Once again my precious wife Jan, makes me smile.
My current activities are  connected with artistic, creative people oriented projects   I  make commercials for outdoor products.  In my area of expertise of gardening a represent companies whose products are connected with that industry.
I have had speaking engagements on both the East and West coasts.  My focus has been encouraging people to take on projects they would not usually consider.  Most things are low budget and not  tool heavy tasks. I use an entertainment style approach that makes it easy for people to approach me.

My radio show, "The Truth about Gardening", in Buffalo on WHLD AM 1270 from 8:00AM - 9:00AM Saturday mornings fell victim to the economy. That has given more time to get into new projects.

Garden/Landscape designer consultant.  I consult with many local landscaping companies assist them to maintain a high level of creative excellence and originality. The designs encompass everything from the traditional style  English gardens to all manner of themed gardens. The appearance of  the newly created garden having always been there is a sign of success for me. I take it as a compliment when people viewing a garden for the first time, are curious about why they didn't see something before.

Business Mentor.  Through a local university's business school and the Center For Entrepreneurial Leadership I act as a mentor to local businessmen going through the program.

I work with many private individuals guiding and training them how to develop their gardens on their own garden spaces. They are more willing to take on larger intimidating projects knowing they can fall back on an expert to guiding them and prevent  them making mistakes.

My own garden has always been an evolving project. This year I removed half of my front lawn and turned it into an allotment style vegetable garden. Great neighbourhood interest and a lot pleasure for me.
The ongoing quest to find new things, to be challenged by, will never end.  Hopefully.  Peter feels his greatest strength is in “I know what I don’t know and I know where to go to find out.”
